Bridge to Bravery

Coping Consultants
Helping tiny humans walk through life's biggest challenges.

Child Life Specialists

A Certified Child Life Specialist helps children and families cope with life’s stressful experiences. Our job is to make scary or confusing situations—like doctor visits, hospital stays, or any tough life transition—less frightening and easier to handle for children

and families. We explain what is happening in developmentally - appropriate language,
help children name their feelings, and teach healthy ways of coping for
each emotion.
Child Life Specialists practice family-centered care, and also
empower parents

and include siblings in each care plan if desired.

A Child Life Specialist's best friend is PLAY.  We recognize that play is how children process things in a way that makes sense to them.  Whether we are preparing a child to welcome home a new sibling, walking alongside a child after the loss of a loved one,  helping them prepare for surgery, or providing divorce care, play is always a meaningful part of our work.
